NWMMMG  Sunday July 18th 2021

On a bright sunny Sunday morning, four of us met at the Ring O’ Bells filling station on  the outskirts of Burscough at 09.30a.m. and after filling up some of the bikes, we set off for Newton-le-Willows, via the Rainford Bye-Pass, East Lancs Road, we met up at the Esso Filling Station, Mill Lane where another seven riders, two members and five guests. A total of eleven bikes then set off for the Juniper Farm Dining and Carvery for breakfast.

Having been suitably fed and watered we then departed for “Teggs Nose Country Park” near Macclesfield. This proved an interesting run, through Warrington, Knutsford and then the A537 to Macclesfield, the Country Park is situated on the Old Buxton Road, Macclesfield SK11 0AP. According to the Google site it is 380m above sea level, with plenty of parking and a nice café, with good views over the surrounding countryside. Good for walking and mountain biking, or just sitting and admiring the view.

After about an hour, talking and taking on liquid refreshments we set off, some went to the Super Bike place at Buxton, others to relations in the near area, and three of us set off for home via the M60, we had an excellent run home joining it near Cheadle and eventually coming off the network at Chorley.

This is the largest number we have had out together, and over the last few meetings we have three new members two with their wives, we have done runs to Knott End, Dunsop Bridge, and Kilsney Park, North of Grassington on the B6160 in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, great place for those who like fishing. Our next run is on August 15th.
